TO DO:

1. water grass
2. update expired drivers license
3. google more ways to get rid of cats
4. lose 20lbs. by chanting "I'm a loser, I'm a loser" 20 x a day at 20:00 for 20 days

um yeah, you know what i think is going to be hilarious is when you go to turn in the cat to the cops and they ask for your driver's license...cuz that's what they always do...you will get so busted for driving there illegally that they won't even take the cat from you...you'll end up in trouble. BIG trouble. it's what you get for bein' a hater.

now to the 20lbs...great plan. just take it easy or your gonna work up an appetite. if you do, DQ will take care of that.

Ok, after much googling... here is one solution:
Make an Outdoor Litterbox
A sandbox will tend to be an attractive place for cats to do their thing. Take a very large Rubbermaid plastic container and fill it with regular "kiddie sand box" sand. If you can, put a couple of pieces of the cats' poop in it to attract them. The cats will enjoy digging in the fine sand and will shift to using it. Scoop occasionally and once a month or so, dump and replace the sand.

If you want to be extra neat, use a large Rubbermaid storage container for the box, filling the bottom with several inches of sand. Then cut a door in one of the sides, above sand level and approximately 8 x 8 inches. Keep the container covered.

To be even neater, take the Rubbermaid storage container, turn it upside down and cut a hole in the side. Place a normal litterbox with regular litter inside the container.

Another method is described by Audrey Boag of the Rocky Mountain Alley Cat Alliance: "For caretakers in the right circumstances, cats love a pile of peat moss (4 feet square, 8 inches deep) in a corner of the yard, replaced once a month or so. It's very cheap, easy to handle and dispose of, keeps the smell down, and is far more attractive than the neighbor's garden.

(not that you want to start ENCOURAGING the cats to use your yard.... but at least it would solve the "using the sandbox" problem)................

Wow! Thanks Betsy!! Now I can check #3 off of my TO DO list!

We haven't talked with the neighbors yet and I am sure it would do no good since they have a hole cute out along the bottom of their fence so the cat can come and go freely!!

Did the cat come back into your yard after your mom trapped it, or did that take care of it?

Also, I am thinking I better update my drivers license before trapping the cat, Laura made me a little paranoid!

make love not war.

Nope- the cat never came back.... PTSD and all.... so- yes- it did solve the problem.

We had a cat that would rub itself up against the patio door. The dog would bark and Ella would cry because she wanted to pet it..........Nat shot a bottle rocket off just above its head..........It has not been back since. :)
